We’re completely guffawed at this, but United Press International has released a brief statement saying that “motorbikes will be prohibited in Iraq’s capital city beginning Monday” in order to prevent possible attacks against Shiite pilgrims. Details as to the length of the ban, why bikes are banned but not non-descript vans, etc., are yet to be given.
The crazy part is that CNN just posted a feature about motorcycles providing relief to Baghdad locals with regular Friday races. Go figure.
