Citroën C2 1587 Brutale heralds new era of inexplicable special editions

Citroen_C2_1587_brutale.jpgWe don’t know about you, but the first thing we think of when someone mentions the MV Agusta Brutale is a cheap European hatchback. Think about it: exotic Italian high-performance motorcycle, bottom-of-the-barrel economy car. They go together like two peas in a pod. So it makes sense then that Citroën and MV Agusta have teamed up for this special edition C2, the 1587 Brutale.

Built for the My Special Car Fair (not affiliated with the Special
Olympics in any way), the C2 features special paint, a huge MV logo on
the hood and a healthy amount of faux carbon fiber trim. Based on the VTS
model, it’s 1587cc inline-four makes 125bhp, 25 less than its namesake,
the Brutale 1078RR. We’re guessing this makes it slow and boring to
drive. Suddenly that Brutale 910R Wally is beginning to make a whole lot
more sense.
