>Additionally, the 2009 VMax features a cast aluminum frame that uses the engine as a stressed member, 52mm RWU forks and a monoshock at the rear. The suspension is fully adjustable. The radial front brakes feature wavy disks and 6-piston calipers in addition to the ABS. Only 2,500 bikes will be produced for the 2009 model year. The only color available is black.
The new VMax also features a prominent tachometer with a 9,500rpm redline and a huge shift light for drag racing. The speedometer and other instruments are located on the tank and use an organic electroluminescent display that’s supposedly exceptionally bright and easy to read.
The variable length inlets switch to their shortest length at 6,650rpm, which should provide a noticeable surge in power and acceleration. Expect the 2009 VMax to run the 1/4 mile in close to nine seconds.
