It’s to bad few shops carry Belstaff anymore. It’s also to bad its become a fashion label and they charge through the roof for it when you can find it. You can’t even purchase from their “showroom” in NYC, though the woman inside was nice enough to direct me to a shop having a huge sale.
Where’s that shop????
I’ll see if I can dig up the name, it was back in April, and they were having a moving sale. Half off made it almost acceptable, atleast to a price I didn’t laugh at and walk out.
The shop was/is L’uomo at: 383 Bleecker St, New York, NY – (212) 206-1844. Now having said that Belstaff should sell direct, and at a reasonable cost for the goods. These are not Vanon, Bates, BKS, NJK, Kushitani, etc, they are waxed cotton. I see no reason on earth for the cost to be more then the quality merchandise custom made by the names above (anybody know what ever happened to bloodnickle leathers? I always wanted one of their boiled wool/leather sweaters). The fashionistas have taken a great long standing company and turned it into something twisted. And damn it, I don’t like being a part of that. I like my coat though, and they are great in the rain.
Awesome, thanks Ben. I totally agree that the cost shouldn’t exceed quality leather and that their motorcycle gear should be more widely available. Or, you know, companies like Alpinestars could just make better looking non-race clothing…
about how much would this Jacket cost?
