The 2009 Aprilia RSV4 has made another appearance at the Mugello circuit. Excluding the handmade exhaust, the RSV4 looks to be running in full homologation trim. The exotic V4 Aprilia’s mildly camoflaged face definitely has a familial resemblance that
brand-wise fits right in with the the Mille Factory as well as the 2008
Thank God it’s not as ugly as its predecessors.
Update: We totally forgot, but the road-going Aprilia RSV4 is being officially unveiled this Sunday at 9:30am EST. We’ll be bringing you official images and info, as well as our own analysis.
>Even more exciting for us is Aprilia’s return to the bold fluid lines and broad organic forms of the factory’s two most beautiful racing machines, the first RS Cube and the Rossi-era RS250. Then there’s also the tight fitment of the exhaust next to the swingarm, simailar to Honda’s CBR1000RR, and the rear numberplate and light bracket looks to have been designed with track-ready removal in mind. While we can’t get a clear shot of the dash, we can tell that Aprilia has designed something large with their peculiar flair for ’80s Italian retro.
In case it isn’t already obvious, we’re completely enamored with this
bike. That said, we don’t expect the RSV4 to come in on the cheap
side. It is Italian. Top of the line Öhlins forks and monoblock Brembos are just the
first hints that have us assuming Aprilia means to market this machine
against the likes of nothing less than a Ducati 1098R or the 2009 BMW S1000RR. Still, we’re just happy Aprilia has the audacity to offer such an amazing machine to the public.
