The 2009 Yamaha R1 will be officially revealed this weekend. According to Randy Mamola it will be “tiny.” It’s safe to assume that the 2009 R1 will make more than the current model’s 180bhp while weighing less than its predecessor’s 177kg (dry) weight. It’s also rumored that the bike will receive design and technical influence from the company’s M1 MotoGP bike. What we’re hoping for is some type of unprecedented X-factor, something like the C-ABS on the 2009 Honda CBR1000RR ABS, but unique to Yamaha. We’ll know in a day or two.
