Portuguese carpenter crafts wooden Vespa

Carlos Alberto built this laminated hardwood Vespa from an old, broken down scooter he had lying around his house. All the body parts are made from wood, including the seat and frame. Vespa’s are traditionally unibody construction, but this one uses a wooden backbone to support the body and suspension. Parts like the engine, suspension and wheels are metal.

This Vespa was built to demonstrate Carlos’s skill as a finish
carpenter. Its incredible attention to detail should work wonders as a
rolling advertisement. While the scooter does ride, we’re guess the
experienced is somewhat heavier and more flexible than standard. Still,
this is a seriously impressive project.

Thanks for the tip, Eric.
