We’d struggle to name more involving, exploitable large capacity motorcycles than big-bore supermotos like the KTM 990 Supermoto R, Ducati Hypermotard and Aprilia Dorsoduro. Those bikes are now getting their own race series in Europe. The Hypermoto class of the UEM European Supermoto Championship will be open to motorcycles of 600cc and larger; meaning a wide range of machinery will be able to compete. Races will take place on the same tracks as the Supermoto Championship, excluding the dirt portions. Not only do we expect the class to be exciting to watch, but it should further help solidify the future of large-capacity supermotos from major manufacturers.
