733 of 1,482 full-time KTM employees will transition to part-time work between May and August this year. The move effectively eliminates two months of production, but retains the company’s workforce and manufacturing capacity in hopes of an economic rebound next year. All levels of employees will be affected, including factory works, management and executives. Cross Holdings, KTM’s majority owner, and Bajaj Auto, which holds 31.72 percent, plan to inject €30 million in capital to keep KTM race-ready.

Awesome to hear that everyone is still employed at least.

    A fine solution. Kudos Bajaj-Katoom.

Is that a dealer building or something? It’s awesome.

That’s a brilliant strategy. Big thumbs up to them and their employees for having the foresight and understanding.

…much better than holding your hand out and saying “We’re incompetent, unable to run a viable business making viable products, so can we have tax payer dollars please?”

“… so that we can take our poor decision making skills to the next level, and blow all that money too.”

A big +1 to Ronin and geonerd.

Also, check out what a major US hospital is doing to save money AND keep their workers working:

Kinda nice to see people in decision-making positions taking a humane, big-picture view of things.

That’s a good plan. I’d rather have a few less hours and a job, than have neither.
