Zero X electric motorcycle camos up

Zero_X_Camo.jpgMaybe this is why Fox News is so into electric motorcycles; they make the ideal platform for killing things. Joking aside, the camo paint on this Zero X electric dirt bike highlights one of the major reasons we’re so excited about it. Where every dirt bike before was about riding in opposition to any given environment, the near-silent running of the Zero X (and Quantya Strada) means it can become part of its surroundings. Instead of scaring every animal within miles, you’ll be able to sneak up on them.

I love the smell of two strokes in the morning.

    • Giggidy

Dab some Motul 710 2T behind the ears before each ride and you’re good to go.

      • aoelus

Maybe better stuff it up my nose.

Woah! Don’t get yourself electrocuted on that thing!!!

  • Remy

Electric dirt bikes have me interested in riding dirt for the first time ever. I don’t think I’ll be going out and buying anything anytime soon, but they’re on my radar.

Like Remy, I’m also really interested in learning to ride dirt because of the ZeroX. I’ve been interested in improving my street riding by learning how to dirt bike, but as a mountain biker, I’ve always been offended by the noise of dirt bikes

For the Closet NINJA in all of us?

    Sigh…

Why do all the ZeroX videos look like they got a completely inexperienced rider?

It looks like their rider has not been on dirt since he road a BMX bike when he was 10.

Also, where are his gloves? Whether you are riding or biking off-road, you wear gloves. It is a basic safety item.

Overall, hire a professional rider, maybe someone with trials experience. Make riding the bike look smooth, nimble and fun.

    That video was very sad.

But where ya gonna strap the critter once ya done killt it? I smell a ZeroX quad in the works.

  • Matt

The definately need some help with their videos. They aren’t making the bikes look very appealing. Also. How about paying some attention to the all-electric tt being run in June?

Try hitting the Electric or the Green tag over in the tag cloud.

Hey, does the Zero seriously use downhill MTB forks and brakes? Lightweight stuff for a ‘crosser?

    • http://hellforleathermagazine.com Wes Siler

It’s like part MTB, part MX. The Zero is so light that straight MX stuff is too heavy, but is fast enough to merit components that are considerably beefier than MTB parts. They can basically spec any components they want and they chose what works best, not what’s cheapest.

Somebody is going to get mistaken for a deer on that thing. Hell, the gun shots I’ve heard when mountain biking made me wonder about my choice of cut off fatigues, can I get it hunters orange instead?

  • aoelus

I’ll wait until I see one slogging through axle deep sand for hours in the Dakar before pronouncing judgment.

  • fritz

Jeeezze that was a lame video

    Ditto about the gloves
