Since 1980, BMW has produced 500,000 GS models and to celebrate it’s releasing this special R1200GS. Combining a bunch of accessories — front fender extension, black oil-cooler spoiler, tinted windshield, two-tone seat that’s 20mm higher than standard, black rims, aluminum cylinder head protectors — with unique white paint, the special model costs just €350 more than the standard bike. The BMW R1200GS special model will be coming to the US, but minus the tinted screen. Pricing for this market hasn’t yet been announced.

Great bike…but I like the last cosmetic version better. This might be the nicest of the new range. I suspect a brand new design is only a few years away. I’m waiting for the new RT

Congratulations BMW! They really took a big risk on this bike, especially with the ’94 model, but it paid off.

Now if only they’d bring back the euro-spec 97 r80gs Basic Kalahari to the states for a short run, I’d be first in line!

I love the look of the r1200gs, but white? Makes it look like a cop bike, IMO.
