New video finally makes TTXGP look exciting

Brammo_Enertia_TTR_JUl15.jpgThe build up to the TTXGP ended in an anti-climax on race day, with very little material and no video leaving the Isle of Man. Now, over a month later, the organizers behind the race have finally cobbled together a decent amount of race footage, unfortunately it’s saddled with a cringe-worthy soundtrack. So much for electric race bikes that sound like TIE Fighters, here they sound like a cheesy country song. Turn your speakers down then hit the video below.

They really have to make a production of it! Everything but the bikes.

LOL! Seriously! What is up with the song choice? I wonder if it was something chosen by Azhar Hussain as something that would get Americans interested in the race.

The video is cool, but you’re right… the audio is absolutely atrocious! I had to turn the sound off.

Okay, so the music could have been better. However, the TTXGP was the start of something that I hope only grows larger. It is really exciting to see the birth of an alternative to combustion engines in motorcycles. Honda already has a hydrogen fuel cell in a (very)limited production car that is almost small enough to fit on a bike. What about a fuel-cell powered Goldwing? That is not so far fetched. It would be quite and smooth and still deliver the torque and acceleration needed for a touring rig. And it maybe a trick of editing, but did that not look like fun?

It’s great to be able to watch history in the making. In 10 or 20 years, these, and other new technologies will be the norm.

But there’ll always be some f%cking saddo who will maintain until death that the petrol bikes were better …

and yes the music by Billy Ray’s slightly less talented cousin really brings the tone down – but obviously the people who chose it are too busy changing the world to notice how sh&t it is.

The video would be more exciting if they didn’t shoot the entire thing in slow motion.

Now just a minute here. Country music means Hank Williams, Merle Haggard and Ernest Tubb, not the generic AOR roots rock clowns cluttering up this workmanlike video. If they’d played it down to “Move It On Over” the whole thing would have been in another league both aesthetically and conceptually.

Ken is right!, hearing old Hank during that video woulda been perfect!
