2010 Honda CBR1000RR: minor tweaks, new graphics

Well, it looks like we can’t apply the “bold new graphics” label to the 2010 Honda CBR1000RR because it’s actually received some slight mechanical upgrades; namely a larger flywheel for increased engine inertia, a quick-release plate hanger, a muffler cover with slits in it and yes, two bold new graphics options. While the new US colors are limited to orange/silver and red/black, lucky Euros again get the pick of the litter with a nicely updated tricolor, black/white and all-black options. We’ve made no bones about our outright love for the CBR1000RR, it’s one of the greatest sportsbikes we’ve ever ridden, easily eclipsing its contemporary competition.

    This is actually a good looking bike, but Honda sure does its best to make it look fugly with paint.

    Wow. Between these graphic treatments and those of the CBR600RR, it looks like Honda have completely surrendered their styling cues to the BANDAI toy company. Honda bikes are now working 1:1 scale models of your typical 9 y.o. Japanese boy’s KAMEN RIDER fantasy. YOO-KEHHHHHH!!!!!!

    Best news about this is that the 2009 might be a bit cheaper…
    Beyond, that, meh. Why do the euros get the the better colors? They also got the HRC paint scheme, which I liked even better than the Repsol colors.

      I’ll go out on a limb and guess that it results in less loss revs between shifts.

        …not to mention typical Blade problem: electic system. They always used to blame the regulator, but actually the generator was closer to the problem…

    Why is it the Euro’s always get the best colors? Does JPN hate us or something or think we can’t handle an all black bike or an HRC bike?

    Wes, I bought a cbr400rr from ’88 9 months ago for $4000AUS, and since then…..i’ve spent $1500 on getting electrical problems fixed. Why did no one tell me?!
