This is the best news you’ll read all day. KTM is bringing its entire range of ridiculously awesome streetbikes to the USA. Where, over the last year, we’ve had spotty availability of models like the 990 Adventure, 690 Duke and 1190 RC8 superbike, for 2010 we’re getting the the KTM 990 Adventure R, KTM 1190 RC8 R, 990 Super Duke R, 990 SMT, 990 SMR, 690 Duke R, 690 Enduro R and we’re getting them with real sales emphasis from the company. Take a deep breath, maybe thank whichever evil deity you’ve been offering virgin sacrifices to, then hit the jump for details.  >

Since word’s beyond “fuck yes” fail us and we’re told that women and children don’t appreciate that kind of language, we’ll simply bring you this video of journalist/designer/superstar Yacouba Galle hooning a Super Duke, then follow it up with details of all the excitement in a shit load of PDFs below.

    Can I get an AMEN?

My understanding is that KTM will have distinct Street dealers and Dirt dealers. They’ve got some work to do in clearing out old inventory of two year old street bikes that the dirt guys couldn’t sell before bringing upgraded versions over here marked up at a premium. Personally: can’t wait to see more of these bikes.

Am I the only one who giggles a little every time someone mentions a “Super Duke?”

‘Cause you know…. Duke is another word for Poo.

That said: More KTM = better. Thank you Moobie.

The RC9 is the best looking sportbike of this short century. I can never afford one, but at least I can lust after one from a closer distance.

Any one else notice that there’s a linkage on the rear suspension of the 690 SMR/Enduro R? For KTM this is a big thing. There’ve been rumors about the ’10 motocross models finaly getting a linkage, which will hopefully allow the American magazines to stop complaining about funny handling characteristics. Seeing that these bikes got a linkage, hopefully it finds its way across the product line.

now if they could just somehow become a bit more affordable to us in the (cough)”recovering from recession”(cough) US market.

My Superduke is one of the best purchases I have ever made. I have not ridded anything that compares for sheer thrill factor. I love it. I will get another one when I wear out this one. Go KTM.

Awesome bikes but beyond my budget.

I’d rather see a street-legal 535 SMR, which doesn’t exist right now except in my imagination.

  • Alfonzo

    Ameri… uhh.. Austria! FUCK YEAH

  • Sean Smith

Well this is just a heaping helping of awesome.

    FUCK YEAH!

I’m not sure anything more needs to be said.

That 990 SMR is catching my eye. If it’s under 13K I think I may be taking one home.

Now, if only the credit market can open up with easier financing. After all, what good is willing customers, if there’s no available credit? Just ask anyone who’s tried to finance a bike in the last nine months. My dealer says the bank’s are saying no so much, he’s losing customers

Just great news. That RC8 R just looks like what the doctor ordered.
