Moto Guzzi V12 X concept: a new archetype for naked Guzzis

If you’re having a little trouble telling the three Pierre Terblanche/Miguel Galluzzi (the guy responsible for the Monster and RSV4) bikes apart aside from the colors, you’re not alone and these live photos don’t help. We’ll hopefully be able to bring you studio shots soon. Apart from being the white one, the Moto Guzzi V12 X is less of an outright sportsbike than the red Le Mans, but more sporting than the green Strada. That means it’s got a comfortable looking seat, but relatively low bars and what Guzzi says is tight suspension and a “rev-happy” engine. Terblanche stated during the unveiling at EICMA, “These are really production bikes – 80% of them could be put in to production, only some details like the headlight have pushed beyond.” We can imagine this one with a nice round lamp leading the way.

Update: Piaggio misnamed the concepts on its press site. This concept is called the “Strada.” The “X” is the green concept.

    I really love these concepts, I feel as though they do a great job of using an updated style around the classic look of the moto guzzi engine. Out of all of the, the V12 X concept is my favorite. Cant wait to see how these end up in production!

    I like all 3 quite a bit.

    How soon / likely are these bikes to see production? Aside from the 80% number thrown out by the exec, does anyone know (historically) if Guzzi show bikes are near-production ready, or just pretty things to drool over before they’re ruined in final form years later?

      They made the MGS-01. When they couldn’t get it through all the hoops to be a road bike, they made it track only. Respect. That was a long time ago, though. I think they could well have been owned by three different parent companies and gone bust a couple of times since then. GI

    Do you have the naming backwards? you have it a little backwards. The green bike looks more like a supermoto or “X” bike while the white one looks like a street or “Strada” bike.

      Nothing is backwards or mixed up. The names are correct for each model. Moto Guzzi named the press release image files according to model. Unless they screwed up..
