Happening: Private Stock/Denim & Chrome 1st Annual Custom Bike Show

HFL, Positions -

In some ways the precursor to hipster bike shows like Greenpoint’s Brooklyn Invitational and in other ways a response to them from New York’s blue collar, latino and black culture, the Private Stock/Denim & Chrome 1st Annual Custom Bike Show on Bergen St. and Flatbush Ave. was more of a classic Brooklyn block party, the weirdo kind where Mos Def and Andrew Dice Clay rock fabulously studded MC vests and designer denim, have some beers, smoke cigars and compare Sheepshead Bay to Bed-Stuy from back in the day.

Nice photos as always. Looking through them it reminded of me of ‘Biker Boyz’ for some reason. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0326769/

Looks like an overall weird time.

It was really awesome. Super stylish guys dressed to the hilt in designer denim, shirts and sneakers, riding the craziest choppers and sportbikes with wizards, barbarians, skulls and naked women painted all over them, mixed with old-school bikers on proper Harleys, thrown together with block-partiers.

      Definitely weird and really cool.
