BMW Concept C: the meanest damn scooter you ever did see

Dailies -

The important takeaway from the BMW Concept C isn’t its aggressively futuristic styling, but rather the fact that BMW’s serious about producing a maxi-scooter. “C” stands for commuter and that’s what vehicles like this one do better than anything else. We’re just disappointed that it doesn’t have a roof.

The shape of the headlight fairing looks like the Z1000 had it’s sides stretched further forward. I like it. I also gladly trade the roof for certainly impractical blue and black tires.

Interesting how these days everything coming out of Japan is looking so bland and conservative, while the Europeans keep pushing the boundaries and taking risks. Case in point: compare the above C concept with the mid-concept scooter from Honda a few threads down.

I’d get a red one and get stickers from the Akira bike. Will have to get ceramic composite rotors and laser gun too.

Just in time for the (supposed) 2011 release of the live-action film!

I hope you don’t have any clown enemies.

did you link to this and i dont see it?

    • Wes Siler

Ah, hadn’t seen that, hilarious. Added it above. Thanks.

Looks interesting, but what’s the power/milage/storage? I get tired of these concepts being teased, and they taken out back and shot just as I was getting excited…

    • Wes Siler

Yeah, there’s no real specs, it’s just a concept.

I want whatever helmet the guy in the press photos is wearing — so I can have big-Euro hair and not get it messed up when I ride my big-Euro maxi-scoot to the disco.

    • pplassm

      That is one RIGHTEOUS hipster!

  • pplassm

Come on, people! Where’s the venom! You all hate the Honda-scooter-thing, why not this?

“We’re just disappointed that it doesn’t have a roof.”

They did that once before and flopped.

That was simply a referential joke. Those things are huge, though. I spotted one in Florence and it dwarfed all the bikes and scooters near it.
