You can edit your comments now

comment-editing

You asked for it, we delivered. You can now edit comments you make on Hell For Leather for 30 minutes after you leave that comment. Why the time restriction? The edit function is there to fix mistakes, so limiting the time in which you can edit will maintain the flow of conversations. After you leave a comment an “Edit” button appears above it, click it and correct away.

Drunk commenting is a little bit safer now.

Only if you sober up within 30 minutes.

I just edited the shit out of my comment

Valid Concern: For those of us on the Comments RSS, we’re not going to see every edit as a new item will we? That could get mighty superfluous.

Let us know if you start getting nailed with updated comments in your RSS.

Would this be a good place for another request? I would like to see Feature articles in PDF instead of flat jpgs. Perhaps even that flash viewer you use on press releases could be used? I love the designs but it would be nice to have better full screen viewing options.

    thanks!

I think that would actually be a huge pain in the ass not only for us, but for everyone else too. Ideally we’ll do those in live text as a normal web page, as available technology and budget allow.

ok, understood but it kinda reeks of web 1.0. People used to do that to try and prevent their content from being stolen, but thanks to a crafty nerd’s ability to reverse-engineer just about anything, it’s a bit obsolete.

yeah, it has nothing to do with anything like that, just trying to find a way to have actually good layouts on the web and control the way readers experience them across a huge variety of operating systems, browsers, etc, etc, etc.

This way you on your brand new Mac and your mom on Windows ME can have enjoy the same experience.

Please don’t change a thing. I love seeing HTML and CSS. No coldfusion, asp.net or anything else that won’t render well on all platforms. As a web programmer and android enthusiast, I think the simplicity and light weight design is a thing of beauty.
