A monstrous R1

The 2011 Yamaha MotoGP colors are super boring, so we figured we’d bring you shots of Josh Hayes’ AMA American Superbike R1. This generation has always been better looking as a race bike than it has on the street and the black fairings with the Monster Energy claw marks make it even more menacing. Look for the Monster Energy Graves Motorsports Yamaha team to debut at Daytona on March 12.

I’m sure Monster Energy would have none of it, but I sure wish the large logo on the fairings aligned with the edge of the fairing (and the “Yamaha/Graves” below). Just a few more degrees! Looks like they lined it up with the white of the fuel tank, instead.

I see what you’re saying, but that could just be because that panel tapers in.

Thanks guys =] Wait till you see bike and rider together! Roll on Daytona!

      Can’t wait.

Eric Bostrom on the ZX-10R or Hayes on the R1 for the win?

        Ben on the Jordan/23 bike.

Hayes’ all the way. Duh? ;) Friendly wager at Daytona?

I’m thinking Ben takes it this year too but who knows, should be some good racing.

“This generation has always been better looking as a race bike than it has on the street”, hit the nail on the head.
