In 1970, Dick Mann rode his Honda CB750 to victory at the Daytona 200 and the world changed forever. This replica celebrates that win and belongs to a customer of Deus Ex Machina, who shot these stunning images.

Not a cafe racer, isn’t slow or british enough to qualify.

Technically the cafe racer scene was over by 1970, so Dick Mann is clearly a poser.

Clearly he is a poser I’ve seen many many picture of him posing after winning a race of some kind or the other.

I didn’t see that winky emoticon till the last minute and was about to give up that anyone will ever remember how awesome Honda’s GP machines were and have to point to the 6 cylinder 250cc gp machine that redlined at something like 19,000 and contained metal coatings that are unknown today. boom, but I did anyway…;)

The bike is beautiful. I not sure I understand the purpose, but if you have the money and it makes you happy, why not!

I like the seat cut-outs for your balls. They were real men back then.

That’s ok if you’re into that kind of thing. And I’m definitely into that kind of thing – freakin’ beautiful!

Are these Grant’s? If so, he’s a fucking genius. As if he wasn’t before…

    • carby

Nope, I shot them (although Grant does indeed know the diff between and f-stop from a stoppie).

      Enjoy the hires feast.

I don’t care what you call it or what it’s “for”…that’s a sweet looking 750!

Nice work. Dick Mann rode a limited edition Honda production race bike, and this is a nice looking re-creation of what Honda raced in 1970. But there were many of them built, not just Mann’s. What would make it a “Dick Mann Replica” would be if the owner went all the way with Dick’s #2 racing number on it. And why is the photo of Dick on a BSA in 1971 shown in the photo set?

    • Scott-jay

      Yeahmm, I’m with you, Don.
Too bad we lost a championship where riders & mfgrs raced a dirt track AND road race series.

      • Cajun58

Heck yeah bring back the Grand National Series with flattrack, shorttrack, TT and roadracing.

Do you want to play on for the holiday?
That one slipped through. Well spotted.
