Motus MST-01 lives!

Dailies -

When we last spoke to Motus in November, Lee and Brian told us they planned to begin nationwide road validation testing in January. Well, it’s February, but here’s the first fully-operational prototype of the Motus MST-01 riding near their Michigan engine assembly location. Below is a video of of the prototype engine testing on a dyno. Holy crap that based-on-a-Chevy-LS7.R V4 sounds good.

Man, once it gets going it sounds like a cross between a Corvette and a Testastretta.

  • Glenngineer

Best sounding engine ever to roll on two wheels. I wish they were HQed in the Northeast.

  • Kentaro

Dying to see the end result of this.

You have to be nuts to ride on main roads in a Michigan winter, our pot holes have pot holes in them. I’d do it for that noise, though.

  • Cheese302

Can’t wait for the next video. I’m seriously interested in this bike.

Looks like they’re doing their part to support the aftermarket. I’m guessing that everyones first purchase is going to be a set of high pipes to keep those cans off the ground. Then again, it’s still just a prototype. If that sound, riding position, and high-spec suspension make it to production, they could probably get everything else wrong, and they’d still have a winner.

wow, that does sound ridiculously good!

Im with the crowd on this one and Im usually not one to get up about engine noise or reving or burn outs or any of the usual gear head stuff but jesus you’re not a man if you dont like that sound.

  • BuellDoc

I hope someday to see and hear it on the banks of Daytona! Then watch the NASCAR fans fill the seats!

If the process is well thought out, the product that results will always show it.

Sweet baby Jesus, that is just awesome, awesome, awesome!!! I really want to see this be a success. I love the idea of an innovative high performance SPORT-Tourer (suits my riding style/needs), and the sound of that V4 is nothing short of intoxicating.

  • Michael

holy crap, me want, me want bad, can;t wait to see the end result, you will be turning heads everywhere

  • todd

So exciting to see all these small players step up and fill the gaps left by the stagnant big boys. If you can’t buy the bike you want, build it.

  • Bronson

I’m a car guy. That thing sounds f’n awesome!

  • Case

Why all the noise about engine noise? HDs are loud and obnoxious and they get pummeled on this site. This is different because it goes freeway speeds? Color me unimpressed.

    • Todd

I’m not a big “sound” guy either when it comes to cars and bikes. I like a good sounding motor/exhaust, but it’s not a factor I really consider when purchasing a car or bike (and I find it odd how many people say it is for them).

That said, I DO love the sound of a healthy V8 or other exotic type performance car motors. I think the key (for me anyhow) is that the sound is more a byproduct of real performance, and not just noise for the sake of noise (ala your prototypical Harleytard with his blatting open drag pipes and 15 second E.T’s).
