Shinya Kimura reviews Aprilia RSV4

Dailies -

It wasn’t a surprise when, halfway through a ride in Azusa Canyon, Shinya Kimura asked for the keys to the Aprilia RSV4. When we pulled up at his shop late this morning he’d pored over the bike with fascination and was surprised to learn it was a V4 instead of a twin. Then, after Grant shot his shop, his new MV and I interviewed him, all three of us decided to go for a ride. What’d Shinya think of the Aprilia? He tells us in this video.

In case you didn’t have your volume up, he says, “Yeah, good motor!”

And yeah, that is Brad Pitt’s custom Ducati 750 GT that Shinya decided to take for a ride with us.

Did you guys go up the ridge road?

    • Wes Siler

Glendora? Yeah, it was pretty fun. Kinda the wrong bikes for it. With all the dirt on the apexes, supermotos would have been much more fun.

  • motoguru

Shhh. Don’t let all the 3/4 haters down there see the helmet he’s wearing.

    • Wes Siler

      No gloves either!!!! Squid.

You guys couldn’t have taken videos of the ride? Normally random people’s GoPro clips are about as much fun to look at as random people’s baby pictures, but here we seem to have some interesting bikes worthy of further contemplation.

God I would kill for some HFL endorsed GoPro clips

Check out the films over on the right. We’ve got more coming soon.

    I’m just a jealous guy.

Love the guy since the short film (you featured it here) on him.
I don’t like all his bikes (this one i do), but his words, particulary “I use my own hands and break my back making the bikes, i believe that speaks to people’s emotions” spoke to me.
Funny he didn’t know it was a V4…

Fun. He is kind of the Mr. Miyagi of motorcycles.

  • robotribe

Great ride. One of my favorites.

Lots of rockslides the past year, hence the gravel.

  • Karl

That looks like a beautiful road. Respect to Brad Pitt for being a biker!
