Spy Photo: KTM 200 Duke

Dailies -

Overdrive.in snagged this photo of a strange-looking KTM 125 Duke testing near Bajaj HQ in India. IndianCarBikes claims Rajiv Bajaj has identifed the model as the KTM 200 Duke, a new, larger displacement model bound for the indian market. The publication goes on to suggest that it’ll up power from 15 to 20bhp and feature similarly high spec to the 125, meaning DOHC a balancer shaft and fuel injection. We’ve previously brought you news that KTM plans larger displacement versions of its new Duke, including the possibility of one to compete in the “400 to 600 categories.”

Yes, about time. I doubt we’ll get anything smaller than the 690 over here in the states (due to pricing).

They’ve gone to great lenghths to keep the price reasonable. Electronics are by Bosch’s Indian subsidiary. Brakes are by Brembo’s Indian subsidiary. Wheels are from a Chinese supplier. KTM insists everything is made to their spec.

This could turn out to be one of the most significant bikes of the year. First learner-legal rig in AGES that is not some dumbed down half-assed effort.I wish these guys well, and I can’t wait for the 250/350 version.

I cant wait for the smaller displacement Adventure models…KTM, are you listening ???
