Chris Pfeiffer is BMW’s resident stunk monkey. You’ve probably seen him entertaining crowds before a MotoGP race or on these very pages, racing a bobsleigh or riding on top of the Vierzylinder. Here, while BMW’s lawyers flash “Do Not Try This At Home” warnings, he teaches you how to pull a wheelie.

    Whack throttle. Hold on.

This guy is incredible. Check out this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ilrrLvjPir4

This video is fucking amazing. Please tell me he has a lever for the rear brake on the bars.

      • http://worldof2.com/ jpenney

Yes, most stunters have a rear brake lever on the left side.

          I thought so…but I’m still impressed!

Why does every “professional” video clip anymore have that choppy editing and loud shitty music?

      +1 LMAO…

I remember “soft hands” used to be considered a degrading comment in elementary school, but I guess it cuts this guy his paycheck, huh…

  • T Diver

Pretty cool. But nonetheless, I am old, and cannot afford fork seals.

    • Scott-jay

I used to do wheelies, but BMW asked me to stop.

Wait, did the Merovingian just give me a lesson on how to do wheelies? He makes it sound so easy. That’s kind of what I would expect from him though.

it’s like wiping your arse with silk…..

PSA: the state of California (if you’re reading from there) considers wheelies a criminal offense.

Yes, criminal. Like shoplifting or punching someone in the face.

Does anyone have a deserted warehouse we can practice in, like Pfeiffer? :)

    • Sean Smith

Not that I’m advocating this sort of thing, but, a sport-bike does 0-60 in under 3 seconds if you know how to work a clutch. A crown vic does is in 8.5.

      • Myles

pft, they run 0-100 in under 6 seconds.

        Crown vics in like 24-25.

Not that I’m not advocating this kind of thing, but helicopters cover ground faster than anything.

        • Sean Smith

Depends on the helicopter ;) I wouldn’t try anything in orange county; 173mph top speed eurocopters are around to catch you.

            “My kingdom for an SA-7!”

  • HammSammich

I’ve been doing wheelies on dirt bikes since I was knee-high to a grasshopper, but even after 4 years of riding my Bonnie, I’m too much of a wuss to try it on a big heavy street machine. Man, this video makes me wanna try, though…

If I do, I promise to send HFL a picture of the wreckage. ;)

Try to fall away from sharp branches.

      • Justin

…unless you have a helmet cam.

A bit more marketing than instruction.

    BMW
    Don’t do a wheelie.
    To do a wheelie… do a wheelie.
    BMW

Reminds me of old instructional skate videos I used to watch from the pros when I was younger. “Okay, here’s how you 50/50… line up to the curb… ollie, then grind… pop off… and ride away. You can varial or kickflip out if you’d like.” OOOh, that’s how you do that! Thanks Eric Koston! Hah.

@Scott…My friends and I joke about those old skate videos all the time and it was the first thing that popped into my mind. Anytime someone scoffs over me not getting how “simple” something is (think IT guys) I just think “…ride away clean.” chuckle and I’m over it.
