2012 MV Agusta F4 RR: 198bhp, €22,900

Dailies, Galleries -

These are the first two official pictures and official specs on the new range-topping 2012 MV Agusta F4 RR. That price is in Italy only, where the bike will be available by the end of this month. No word on US pricing or on-sale dates.

Update: 21 high-res photos.

At 184.8mph, the RR has a lower top speed than the 189.4mph F4. That’s due to an altered primary drive ratio that, at 48/82, is lower than the F4′s 50/79.

  • Adam

Still heavy and only 184mph top speed. What is the restricted power version?

    • http://hellforleathermagazine.com Wes Siler

Some markets have power caps. France is 100bhp for example.

    • http://www.lgdm.fr stempere

Probably the 100bhp version. Legal limit for motorcycles here in France (usually 105~106bhp).
      Yeah it sucks.

      • Adam

That sucks. It is like riding my BMW in the “rain” mode. Maybe not I think that my rain mode is 150HP.

reason #2 not to live in France: 100bhp limits
reason #1 not to live in France: French People

        • http://hellforleathermagazine.com Wes Siler

The French are lovely, it’s Parisians you want to avoid.

          • http://greatjoballweek.blogspot.com/ Case

Sweet sweetness. I can’t afford it, but so, so nice to look at. That curved rear-end makes me swoon. (Not the first time I’ve used those words, but the first time for a motorcycle.) — uhh, I had a reply fail. Was supposed to go at bottom of page. ewps.

          • Thom

Heck even the Parisians can be wonderful if you get in with the right bunch .

Main reason not to live in France ; You think our Bureaucracy is overwhelming and miserable ? Wait till you’ve lived under French Bureaucracy for a year or so .

FYI Taco : Those French are a clever bunch and have their ways of getting around said silly laws .

              Here here!

Besides, Paris has the best Chinese food I’ve EVER tasted…and I’ve been to China!

            • http://www.lgdm.fr stempere

We’re not so bad. You should go to Marseille…
In all honesty most parisian are dreadfull, and after 12 years here i’m looking for a new place… in Berlin.

The 100bhp law was a temporay fix established more than 20 years ago and is suppoosed to go away (thanks to europe mainly) every other year.

I, for one, respect it (to much to lose in a crash if you don’t) and i have to say i do yearn for my lost 35bhp (corsaro veloce)…

On the subject of the bike, beautifull. But a waste of 22ke were i live (half the power, that’s pure craziness).

    The spec says 201HP. BTW

    • http://hellforleathermagazine.com Wes Siler

147.7kw = 198bhp. They’re being confusing with the metric BS.

  • Aienan

It sure looks pretty. I love that angle on the front as it comes back to the rad then forward at the bottom. I’d almost buy one just for that.

  • Thom

    Ohhhhhh baby !!!

    Che Bella Machina .

Wonder if they’ll do another ” Senna special ” edition on this one ?

  • http://www.muthalovin.com the_doctor

    Fancy. Thermoplastic.

    Should be fun.

  • Scott

    Thank you Harley Davidson…

    • robotribe

Yep. Best thing to ever to happen to MV; kinda like Clapton leaving the Yardbirds.

        $109million – $1 = Agusta F4 RR

Why the Ducati paint job? Red and silver please.

  • Joshua

Can we please stop calling these gallery pictures High-Res? 1024×683 is smaller than my netbook’s screen, much less my 27″ iMac.

    • http://hellforleathermagazine.com Grant Ray

There’s something happening in the flickr widget that isn’t letting the image stretch to full size. I’m looking into a fix.

  • eric

Are they going to actually race this punk, or is it all for show still even though they reverted back to 1000cc?

  • T Diver

I guess I don’t know shit about motorcycles. The front on this one looks like a GSXR too. To me at least.

    • Kirill

Front end styling is pretty derivative sportbike, but its the side and (presumably) rear where the magic happens

      • Frosty_spl

        Just like a woman.

  • HammSammich

Looks tasty in white. I also like the outrigger-style pillion pegs – kind of an elegantly simple solution, although I’m not sure I’d want to take a pillion with me if I had a bike like this.

  • je

I think there is a flaw in the image gallery, the bike I see is far from attractive. The front does not flow, the side air duct/vents look like they were done with an etch-a-sketch, the tail section curve does not match the rear wheels and throws off the lines. I do like the exhaust but the gap between it and the tail piece ruins it and again its curve not matching the wheel ruins it. They manage to just make it look really busy. Its like the fat girls that put on tight cloths to try and hide the fail..

Everything they did wrong on this bike they pretty much aced on the F3..

I think thinks it’s absolutely beautiful. Check out that crankshaft!

    • Thomas

      pure art

  • Ricardo

one of the most exciting bikes in the market….

  • http://www.pedalgents.com holdingfast

Its been decided. Within the next six months im gonna rob a bank. The next day I’m buying the F3 and maybe I’ll even splurge on the F4* as well..

*maybe by then there’s gonna be a Senna Special?
