Just some pretty pictures and a nice video of a 1972 Yamaha XS650 tracker painted in King Kenny-rep colors courtesy of Deus Ex Machina, which plans to flog it at its Sydney HQ. More for sale ads should be like this.

Lovely. Reminds me of my XS650, residing somewhere in Wales now I think. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YTPS8hPnS_E

Yeh, ran out of cash at the time so sold it. David from DSC was about to do the paint job too, next time…

I’d powdercoated the frame, forks and wheels, had it completely re-wired, built the number plate headlight etc.

Sweet! A friend and I rode over to the Grand National Flat Track races in Castle Rock, WA a couple of years ago, and they have a vintage class, which included a couple of XS650s. For whatever reason the Yamaha’s were consistently slower than the Triumph’s and the Harley’s. But man, as a street tracker this looks great!

If you keep posting these I may be forced to drag mine out of storage and start working on it again… damn these bikes can look good with a bit of work.

To self, I really don’t need another xs650.

This bike is made out of readily available stock parts:

DIY rather than pay those fancy Aussie prices.

XS650′s definitely benefit from readily available parts. Between MikesXS and Omars you can get everything you need to take a rotting old stock bike to a nice tracker. Not too many other old bikes have that going for them.

    Some background disclosure.
We didn’t build the bike and we would normally shift this off the floor without fanfare however it is such a neat job and a credit to the guy in his shed who built it we thought we’d snap off a couple of pics before it goes….and we wanted a ride around the harbour.
