Crashing a snowmobile looks way worse than crashing a motorcycle

How bad can snow hurt? I mean, it’s definitely softer than tarmac, right? And how hard must it be to crash one? They don’t even fall over when you stop! But, show your mom this video and all those warnings about dying are going to be on the subject of snowmobiles from now on.

    Wow! That’s one wild ride!

  • Miles Prower

How much does a snowmobile like that weigh? 400 lbs? Trying to grab anything that weighs that much — and is tumbling out of control — is pretty much gonna rip your arm off.

More like 800. Those things are heavy.

Notably absent from the last few seconds of this video: “Let’s do that AGAIN!”

I kinda want to do this.

        Thanks for the credit Wes!

This is one of those things that looks super fun, but must’ve been terrifying while it was happening. If you’re lucky you have that moment at the end of it where you take some deep breaths, check yourself for injuries, realize there’s none and scream for more.

Any time dude. Big fan of Gotta Do.

  • Aapo Tilman

at first I thought, why doesn´t he slow it down when he went out of track, but obviously, when it is so steep, its either up, or dooooooooooooooooooooooooown. :)

  • JonB

This is the video version of the Robert/Nesbitt exchanges.

That dude is the MAN. I slides down a mountain a zillion feet then stands up and tries to catch his snowmobile.
I’m gonna go fall off my bike at the top of a hill, then tumble down the hill ahead of my bike and try to catch it. Wish me luck!

Make sure your health and life insurance are paid up

  • wwalkersd

Oops. Shoulda gone a little to the right.

How much can snow hurt ?

Ever crashed & burned on a set of skis at 30 mph ?

    A lot !

    • Sean Smith

Ever caught an edge on a snowboard at 50 mph? Now I wear full-on body armor, a back-protector and a helmet.

      • Archer

How about losing an edge in a downhill race on blue ice at Whiteface (minus five F) in a skin suit at about 55? 2nd degree burns, I crap you not.

  • Brad W.

    Now those things are dangerous.

  • gt1

And I thought all crashes last just a few seconds.

  • Skank NYCF

I just sent the guy a message. I wanna do this. Looks like fun.

Move bitch, get out the way.

  • Devin

    World’s toughest helmet cam.

    • Tom

I thought the same thing. Damn!

Did anyone else have a familiar feeling as he made his way up the hill through the trench? At about :34 if you squint at the wall on the left, you’ll see it. Yep. It’s a womp rat.

    • Taco

Womp rat! I used to bullseye womp rats in my T-16 back home, they’re not much bigger than two meters.

One night I was in triage in the emergency room when this guy walks up to me in full snowmobile gear and helmet. i thought, that’s kinda weird that he didn’t take his helmet off, then I noticed his left arm just hanging down in his suit. He’d wrecked his snowmobile out in the boonies – broke his collar bone and arm and dislocated his shoulder. Then he got back on it, rode it off the mountain and onto his trailer, then drove himself to the emergency room — about a three hour drive. I’ve also seen a broken pelvis from jumping a snowmobile. They can hurt you, fer sure.

    • noone1569

      That guy, he has balls.

Fucker just ruined an epic skiing line.

  • marshallhaas

Right at :51 you get a nice look at how far down he gets to go.

  • mcfaite

My Google-fu is weak today, but I could have sworn there is a complimentary video to this one, shot from the top of the run. Can’t find it right now, can’t remember where I saw it…

    • noone1569

This is true. Was featured on Jalopnik as was this

  • Coreyvwc

    yeah, eff that nonsense…

  • Rachael

Anyone ever read the Greek myth about Sisyphus?

That’s a hell of a friend who’ll run down a mountain and try and catch your sled. I can’t even get my buddies to help me paint my house.
