Lapping with Andrea Dovizioso at 1,000fps July 26, 2011 By Wes Siler Tweet Following on from Casey Stoner’s slow-mo corner, here Andrea Dovizioso walks us through an entire slow-mo lap aboard his Repsol Honda. Since this is basically bike porn, we’ve upped the ante with 41 high-res money shots of Andrea in the gallery. http://www.muthalovin.com the_doctor Oh, I thought you wrote Adriana. These are good too, I guess. Miles Prower [690 Duke, MTS 1100] LOL! Miles Prower [690 Duke, MTS 1100] Was this really shot at 1000 fps, or was Twixtor used it to create synthetic frames? Miles Prower [690 Duke, MTS 1100] Here’s one of my favorite videos processed with Twixtor for 1000 fps motion. It was shot at 60 fps. And although the motion doesn’t look as believable in this skateboarding video with some Twixtor-synthesized slow-mo, it’s still nice (and a soundtrack of Explosions in the Sky will make just about any video enjoyable to watch). And this skydiving video with synthesized slow-mo is just sublime. BTW, after watching the Andrea lapping video again, I can see the “wavy gravy” artifacts of video-time-expansion in the spinning wheels. At first, I thought the waviness was due to the heat, but I think it’s a different type of waviness than the heat waves you see affecting the images of the asphalt. T Diver Hondas make the best wheelies. Hands down.
