These are the first ever images of the MV Agusta F3 Serie Oro, a special edition of the all new middleweight that will be available ahead the “base” model late this year. Where the regular MV Agusta F3 will cost just €11,500, this Serie Oro more than doubles that to €24,900. Justifying that premium will be top-drawer Ohlins suspension, Brembo Monobloc brake calipers, carbon fiber body panels, carbon exhaust tips and what appear to be magnesium wheels and swingarm pivot.

The Serie Oro will share the F3’s 675cc inline-three, which brings two technological firsts to the supersport class: traction control, of which the benefits are obvious; and a counter-rotating crankshaft, which should help reduce rotating inertia. Crurrently making 137bhp on the test bench, it’s already the second most powerful engine in the 600-ish class, behind the Ducati 848 Evo, but the 140bhp goal is almost ridiculous and would put this 675cc motor on par power wise with not only the 848, but also the 750cc inline-four of the original MV Agusta F4. If all that’s not enough, MV is also claiming that this motor is the most compact, short and narrow supersport engine ever, too. It’ll rev to over 15,000rpm.

Earlier this year, MV claimed, “The counter-rotating crankshaft, a defining feature that separates the F3 from the competition, guarantees superior handling that cannot be matched by motorcycles with a conventional engine architecture. The counter-rotating crankshaft not only offers an advantage during fast direction changes, there is also a massive benefit with regards to weight transfer during acceleration offering an increase in rear wheel traction.”

    Can’t wait to pick up a siere regulari next spring. This bike oozes beauty. I’ll take the one in all white. And hope that they offer some of the Oro parts as upgrades like the suspension

    Sweet sweetness. 140 BHP is absurdly close to World Supersport bikes. Yikes. And so pretty. (Also 140 is exactly the figure quoted in the official Moto2 press releases. Coincidence? Maybe, maybe not.)

    25k euro is a big pile of cash. Mightn’t it be cheaper to buy the other model and put aftermarket calipers/wheels/ohlins on it? CF bodywork is super-racer only. No need to make an expensive front-end tuck even more expensive.

    On the other hand, it’s unlikely that the first 200 buyers are price-sensitive.

      Or just buy the base model, put the rest of the money towards training that will stay with you for life, and avoid front end tucks and crashes altogether.

    How does MV Agusta afford the R&D money they must have to invest to innovate this stuff? I’m sure it’s not cheap to develop your own production-worthy traction control and throttle-by-wire systems and it’s not like I see a lot of MV Agusta bikes on the road. I see far more Triumphs on the road, leading me to believe Triumph would be better funded but the specs on this bike seem to trump (pun intended) Triumph’s supersport (Daytona 675) despite Triumph’s investment in World Supersport, in which MV Agusta doesn’t participate and therefore lacks that development asset.

      My guess is that there are a lot of behind the scenes shared resources in tc/abs development. For example, Bosch makes ABS modules. Maybe Company xyz sells an off the shelf tc solution?

    For that chunk of change I will take the 1190RS instead.. Just not a fan of the front end but that is the most amazing exhaust ever.

    I would take the EBR 1190 as well. Not because of technology, handling or power, which is awesome by the way, but because of loyalty… and principle.

    Harley Fu@ked over and killed the BUELL brand. KILLED IT, no sale, not even an opportunity to sell. Then after owning MV agusta for like a year and investing millions of dollars into this company they sell the company back to the original owner for nothing.

    Rock on EBR, sign me up for a mass production model when available!

    Thank Jeebus I’m not able to afford this bike. It would be the ultimate douche move to buy an MV August F3 as my first sportbike…at least that’s what I’m telling myself in order to feel better…it’s just so pretty…

      Simple, there is no ABS. See any wires coming down to the Calipers? Nope.

    It’s a shame that Suzuki so badly killed the single diamond front headlight. This thing looks absolutely stunning from angle except head on. All I can see is a “gixxer” staring me in the face. Nothing wrong with a little butterface action I suppose though…?

    Dunno. This is borderline custom-streetbike-cheese to my eyes. All that gloss and the silver sticker-like things on either sides of the headlamps feels like a mildly subdued attempt at the same visual noise you see on GSXRs and CBR600s the past few years.
