This is what’s new on the 2012 Triumph Daytona 675

Already available in both black and red and lacking any mechanical updates for the new model year, what’s new on the 2012 Triumph Daytona 675 isn’t going to make it faster or lighter, but it is going to make it nicer to look at. Replacing the godawful comic sans belly pan graphics of previous years, the Daytona now adopts Triumph’s “sports script” font for all its badging. Wait, a motorcycle that only displays a single font?! Heads must be rolling in Hinckley this morning for such a fit of off-message graphic design competency. But there it is, “Triumph,” “675” and even “Daytona” scrawled in the same manner. Looks like you won this time, taste. There’s also some minor touch ups to things like the brake disc carriers, which are now black and clutch and generator covers which now carry the Triumph logo.

That partially-updated new model that’s been spied with a low-mount, GP-style exhaust? That’s the 2013 Triumph Daytona 675, due out next year.

It’s starting to get a little long in the tooth, but this bike still speaks to me. Especially the red on black paint job. So freaking nice!

I never really noticed this bike until I saw the special edition with the white paint and blue frame. Something about that blue frame just wouldn’t let me stop staring.

Yeah, that SE model is when they really hit their stride.

This will never sell! What kind of self-respecting sport bike rider wants something that’s not covered in at least four different colors and half a dozen graphic stickers?

  • Todd

Triumph also did this for the 2011 Daytona 675R.

I’m waiting for the Comic Sans revival.

still the nicest looking bike right now

Jebus Thrice I hate Comic Sans and literally freaked out that I’d never noticed it on the bike. The previous graphic wasnt great but it was a far-cry from that foul font!

I would literally have scratched it off the top of my sport-bikes I can actually afford!
