Scott Campbell x Pirelli

To commemorate the launch of its lifestyle and fashion collection in Milan, Pirelli hired famed tattoo artist Scott Campbell to design a custom tire. Using the same methods supermoto and other racers use to groove patterns into slick carcasses, Scott applied a this tattoo-like pattern to a Ducati Diavel’s 240-section rear. A closer look below.

I’m just happy to hear the Diavel’s functionality was unaffected.

So that 240 rear is, in fact, good for something.

Now that’s what I call a temporary tattoo!

  • Thom

    Ugh !

So now Pirelli’s gone the ‘ Hipster’ route as well , tattoo’s n’ all !

So can we assume Pirelli has been taking ‘ Merchandising & Cheapening the Name ” lessons from Ferrari up the road ?

Interesting as a piece of design and art. Awfully expensive frame to hang it on, for what it is.

    The Diavel is still ugly

The second video was quite nicely put together. There’s a really nice feal to it (no motorcycle or tattoing sound are, in this instance, a good thing).
