Ludovic Lazareth, Roland Sands, Marcus Walz customize VMAXs

For EICMA this year, Yamaha commissioned Ludovic Lazereth of France, Marcus Walz of Germany and Roland Sands to build custom VMAXs. With mods limited to the aesthetic and bolt-on by the manufacturer, we’re not seeing anything too crazy here, just some clean restylings of the muscle cruiser. Roland’s take, though, is notable in its subversiveness; clip-ons, underseat exhaust and a bullet seat? A VMAX cafe racer?

  Nah, the swingarm really is that long from the factory. Roland intentionally built the bike to look that way.

Tomwito looks stretched to me too, I think it’s about as tastefully kick ass as a VMAX can get. Major props to RSD on that undertail exhaust

Minus the extended swing arm and wheel choice I would buy the RSD VMAX. Very cool, well done Roland but please stop with those wheels.

  After looking at the pic and a pic of the 2012 Vmax it doesnt appear the swing arm is stretched.. Interesting thing would be to see it shortened, now that would be sex.

I like RS and his get-up and go… but I have never liked any of his bikes. None look like they can handle the next curve in the road. Now he’s selling road gear, whats next, designer shorts to go along with the bike? Keep at it Roland!
