R1 vs Porsche, in the snow

The lunatics at French moto journal, Moto Journal, decided to make the car v bike trope interesting by doing it on ice. It’s not terribly apparent who won (we’re guessing editing was complicated by an intense odor of garlic), but we’ll go ahead and give moral victory to the bike rider for donning a cape.

Every once in a while the French do something totally badass.

    • daniel

Agreed. Totally Badass. Supremely Badass, shame that French stereotypes are only reinforced by the wearing of a cape though.

      • The other Joe

Every stereotype is based on fact.

Not just every once in a while, check out the previous vids from Moto Journal – they do badass stuff all the time!

There’s that scene in the incredibles, when Edna E Mode does the montage explaining her “no capes” policy on superhero outfits. Couldn’t get that out of my head watching this.

      Me neither.
“Metaman, express elevator! Dynaguy, snagged on takeoff! Splashdown, sucked into a vortex! No capes!”

  • Campisi

He forgot to tell the leetle feesh to eat sheet.

      Lol!

Crap. Now I want snow tires for my CBR.

That R1 on studed tires… Jesus. Better lean than Rossi.

Ice racers are mental. Watch some of the videos of “pros”. They are dragging bar ends all over the place!

  • The Blue Rider

I found myself wondering what it’s like to drag a knee on ice.

  • oldblue

If you look real close at the cape, you can see an Icon logo.

  • Coreyvwc

For some reason I’m amused by the fact that the R1 seems to be complete stock except for the ice tires. Might just be the beer talking though…

  • Liquidogged

    100% Win.

The rider is Serge Nuques a nutcase known for his somewhat humorous outfits, he’s also been knighted by a fictitious country, hence the cape.
I suggest a youtube search (or some of the other Moto Journal videos, he’s often in them), the guy is an absolute beast on a supermotard.

    • DoctorNine

While I do speak a bit of French, since you are a native speaker, I will accept your recommendation, that the correct pronunciation of ‘Nuques’ is ‘Nutcase’. Thank you.

That was pretty fucking cool with the R1.

  • pplassm

Neat. We used to do that on the lake where we lived. Sheet metal screws, not spikes, though. There are tales of flipped over VWs and sunken sleds. Aaaah, youth!

  • Core

    Holy shit that was awesome!

I’d been going fast on the motorcycle in hopes the car didn’t lose it and run me over.
