‘Racing as R&D for product’

Dailies -

In this 5th installment of EBR Nation, we get a look behind the scenes of pre-season testing at Jenning’s GP down in Florida. Danny Eslick and Geoff May give insight into both the EBR 1190RS’speformance, and also its development process. Described as an “old school approach,” Erik is using racing as development for his products. That makes sense when you see the bike in person, it looks pretty much like a GP bike, as opposed to the cost-cut mass production we’re more used to from mainstream manufacturers.

Quite amusing how the riders seem to be trying to be heard over the Satriani-Eddie Van-Malmsteen soundtrack….Good luck to the team…

    siiiiiiiiiick song bro!!!

EBR had a few hic-ups at Daytona but are coming along nicely. They WILL podium this season.

Can’t wait to see them up close at Miller next month. Now, to go break out the XB12Ss since it’s finally warm enough around here.

Looking great. I’m really really glad that Erick is doing what he’s doing. That, in my opinion, defines a American manufacturer. Pushing the boundaries, not milking the past.

    Thanks for sharing!

GP bike? More like World Superbike maybe – but definitely not a GP bike. I like what he’s doing but – given the current limited models/production numbers – EBR is a boutique manufacturer way out of this rider’s price range. I’d love for him and his team to succeed and broaden their product range…to include something for the rest of us.

Consider, that “cost-cut mass production” has resulted in stone reliable, day-to-day liveable, easy-to-ride machines that will outperform a full-on Superbike of a decade ago, and cost ~$10k if you’re a smart buyer. Pretty f’n incredible IMO.

Best effort by the producers yet -no sick video effects. Me gusta.

Those headers… they look 2x the diameter of the ones on my 1125!!!

Im with the other whiners. I am beginning to actively hate “Rat Pak Records” for ruining these otherwise cool ass videos.

In the end, small potatoes. I’ll keep watching, go Buell go.

Agreed – but hey, now we know their name right? Must be a part of their cunning plan.
