2013 Triumph Street Triple R comes in black and grey too

Dailies, Galleries -

Poking around Triumph’s website, we noticed that the 2013 Triumph Street Triple R doesn’t just come in white, the only color released in the press photos. In fact, “matte graphite” and “crystal black” look so handsome contrasted by the red subframe and radiator shroud that we requested high-res photos for you.

Unveiled at Intermot, the 2013 Street Triple drops 6kg in weight (largely thanks to that new, low-mount exhaust and die-cast subframe), while retaining the same 105bhp 675cc three-cylinder motor. Suspension geometry is also revised; the non-R should steer faster, the R will be a tad more stable.

Argh … no Black and Gold. I love that color scheme on my Striple R

Egh, def looking noticeably more and more Japanese these days than British. The first thing I think when seeing this is “plastic”.

But that’s just my opinion, everyone’s a critic and I can only imagine what the designers face behind the scenes. There’s an old saying, “A camel is horse designed by committee”.

I do think the sharp edges and molding suit a more aggressive look better. http://i.imgur.com/UeJIU.jpg

Thus proving my hypothesis that when your product looks best in black it’s probably not a good-looking product. I love Triumph but those plastics, subframe, exhaust canister and the (unfinished looking) headlights conspire against a great bike that is slowly descending into the current bag-of-wedges motorcycle styling philosophy.

Agreed, if it’s ugly, paint it black.

Is that a black plast panel along the bottom edge of the tank? If so, that just reeks of Japanese cover-everything-with-black-plastic-panel-ism.

I’m curious what tacky color you would have them use in place of black? Please, say yellow.

All bikes should really come with a purple air brush wizards fighting grizzly bears option.

13 lbs. lighter? Take a lesson, Honda.

If these engines didn’t suck valves down into the heads and destroy the engines by the 50k mark I’d consider one…

Whiners…it is still a headbanger of a motorcycle. I don’t mind the looks because this is one motorcycle that proves function over fashion. Then again, I do own a B-KING which I love dearly. So maybe I am not the best judge of motorcyle beauty.

I think this bike is bang-on and I owned a 09 STR. Cant wait to demo one !
