Watch as Honda tuner Al Lamb reaches a two-way average of 265mph aboard his heavily-modifed Honda CBR1000RR at the BUB Speed Trials, setting a new (still unratified) record as the fastest sit-on motorcycle in the world. More on Al, Bonneville and going really, really fast later today.

    I don’t believe it. The physics of 265MPH on 400HP isn’t possible, when one considers the frontal area of brass balls large enough to attempt this stunt.

    Didn’t that nut job on the 1,000hp hayabusa do 300+ earlier this year on an airstrip? Land speed is so damn confusing…

    Is it just me, or does this bike’s fairings and windscreen look more like the supersports of old? I’ve got a CBR 600F2 sitting in the carport that looks more like this bike than any of the current wasp-bodied bikes on today’s showroom floor.
