Yamaha prooves grooviness with Cage Six concept

So you’ve got a model range largely targeted at enthusiasts and commuters aged 25+. You’ve also got a new model, the XJ6 (nee FZ6), which is the very definition of a lackluster middleweights. Your bosses want you to market that lackusterness back to some demographic known as “young people” but won’t give you any ability to do so with a model actually targeting them or a non-endemic campaign capable of reaching them. Damn, what a quandary. What about a concept bike you could tote around shows that just had some freestyle stunt stuff bolted to it in bright colors? I mean, kids do like bright colors. But right, kids don’t go to bike shows. Damn, that’ll never work. Still, beats turning up with nothing, right?

Jamie’s bike, if it had paint, muffler & crash bars.
Ride this, an adventure poser, a racer poser, or touring poser, etc. Do we live in great times, or what? : )

I can almost hear it saying ‘… please, kill me now…’

Hey, it’s a naked that is actually naked. Props.

With a more restrained colorway, I’d happily ride this.

If you squint hard, it’s Yamaha’s take on Ducati’s take on a crashed fighter. Seems like the long way around, but I don’t mind the end result.

Oh cute, it looks like it has a rear hand brake, too. The bark busters sort of obscure it, but the double rear caliper is the give away.

If you squint harder, it’s Yamaha’s upsized take on the KTM Duke 125/200/250/300.

        Suburban flatbillers of Europe unite.

BTW, if it weren’t for the blown-up halftone splash graphics all over it, I’d actually like the looks of this thing.

Looks like an awesome bike to ride around being loud and naughty on…

We all ride bikes and it appeals from time to time, in me at least.

Definitely some more subdued colours though!

I’d much rather Yamaha brought a new Tricker out.

    I dig that.

All except for the sticker on the lower fork leg. Placing it diagonally like that makes the forks look like their bent.. pet peeve!
