Calm down there. This KTM 1290 SuperDuke R isn’t quite a production bike, yet. Instead, it’s a fully-functional concept. A bored-out version of the RC8′s v-twin yields 180bhp. Listen to it startup below.

      No, you’re not. You can get parts for your CB-R, if it ever even needs them.

        The argument of not getting parts for KTMs in the states has gotten pretty worn out. Few years ago? yup. Now? Nope.

          Yup. I’ve been riding a 990 SMT for several months now. Finding parts is pretty durn easy, and surprisingly inexpensive for most (especially compared to something like Ducati).

            I never had too many troubles finding anything I need for my 950 ADV, but then again I avoid the dealership like the plague and know where to go to buy what I need.

              Yeah, seriously. I’ve had two KTM supermotos for the last 5 years now (525 SMR & 625 SMC) and never once had any issues getting parts for them.

        After some consideration I stand by my CB. At $5700 (new) I have a feeling I saved about $10k over one of these. And legal fees for a fistful of traffic violations of course.

    Looks like the classic KTM orange is morphing to a hotter, more reddish hue; more fluorescent and more attitude. We like.

    Only mad Austrians would put a bar instead of clip-ons on that thing. Love it.

    They way the handlebars and forks rise up from behind the headlight/housing thing is really, really unsightly.

      Agreed, though it does continue line from the extreme slope of the tank.

      Also interesting how the headlight housing has a similar shape to the traditional droopy Brutale headlight.

      The lines remind me of a vulture.

      But funny enough, I still find this hunchback bird aesthetic captivating.

      I’d love an all-white one — white plastic, white frame, white subframe, white wheels, white headlight/semi-beak.

    I think Contour (or GoPro) camera mounts should be standard or factory accessories, especially on bikes like this.

    Integrate the controller into the handlebar controls and you’d be set.

    That way, you’ll make some great video, enjoy the bike even more, and make it easier for the state to prosecute.

    Insanely aggressive and in your face. I do hope that they change the light-setup for production. It’s definitely not proportional to the rest of the bike.

    Definitely a major jump in what they usually make. Will be interesting to see the specs and features on it.

      I noticed this too. Must be attached to the podium which could limit it’s readability and range.

    I am going to buy this bike.. that simple.. Buell lightning headlight setup already on shelf waiting to replace their donkey setup.
