The problem with motorcycle racers is that they grow up in a vacuum. It’s all motorcycles, motorcycles, motorcycles and more motorcycles. You can never really rely on them to act their age. Which is why, when one calls and asks if he can borrow they keys to your longterm Aprilia RSV4 “for work” you should be a little more skeptical than I was. Honestly, I can’t tell you how many times in the course of an average day I utter, “Fucking Jamie,” but it’s a lot.

    I’m glad that a racer like Jamie is saying that the limit of Super Bikes are so high that you’re having a hard time exploiting them. I thought i was just too slow!

    You guys getting some sponsorship in now? In regards to the Porsche. It’s quite a departure from your little truck. Nice way of doing it, though!

    Man, that track looked like a glorified kart track. Totally mental taking a RSV4 on there.

      It is a kart track. They do ride a lot of supermoto there though.

        I’ve ridden some kart tracks on a 125 two-stroke and it felt mega fast. Liter bike on a kart track….just does not compute.

    Sweet vid. I’ve discovered that litre bikes are just too much on the street as well. Great fun when you’re new to them, put a smile on my face for the first couple of months and I wasn’t even riding above 6k RPM! But now it’s just frustrating not being able to open the taps. Which of course you can do, but on the streets it just means you end up doing go-to-jail speeds. And I’m much too pretty to go to jail.

    Supermoto is where it’s at for street riding!

    Maybe it’s me not being a native speaker, but to me it sounded like Jamie was saying “murdercycle” a few times.

      In the Australian media they are know as Murdercycles.

      Apparently these ‘murdercyclists’ are drunk 24/7, do 350km/h in every school zone, wheelie through graveyards and rape/pillage innocent children.

      I love V4s! The sound, the low powerband, the narrow engine! That’s why I ride a VFR.

      Test rode it in the city and in what you’d call canyons and i seriously think it’s the best sounding stock exhaust ever made.
      The first time i engaged first and the valve opened i was amazed that thing is legal.

      Yea they are surprisingly loud stock, same with the Panigale. You almost don’t need to buy aftermarket cans for either of them, unless weight savings is your goal.

    So this might be a dumb question…but what exactly do journalists mean by a long term tester bike. Like in your case Wes were you just given the bike? What are the stipulations attached? Mileage limit? Or Long Term Tester a code for personal motorcycle

      It’s a bike that’s on-loan for longer than the typical 2-3 week period. That can mean a variety of things, in this case we just used it for a bunch of stories throughout the summer.
