Nicky Hayden on the new Hypermotard

Remember that Instagram photo of Nicky Hayden sliding the new Ducati Hypermotard? That was created during the shoot that resulted in these images and this video. Looks like fun, huh?

Making 20bhp more and weighing 9lbs less than the outgoing, air-cooled 1100s, this new Ducati Hypermotard does more with less. There’s also a “touring” version called the Ducati Hyperstrada and an SP model that gets super-fancy pressurized gas forks and an Ohlins shock.

I’ve known women to take a long time in the rest room, but that had to be some kind of record. :)

I hope you get to ride one soon since I’m looking forward to your thoughts on it. On paper the Hyperstrada looks like the perfect bike.

that spot is so bad, it angers me to think of how much money some agency made on this one. and the music, holy crap.

    • MrMotoWise

What do you find so bad about it? Why don’t you share your idea for something you think would be better? It has to 1. use Nicky Hayden and Ruben Xaus and 2. somehow incorporate the “license to thrill” theme (reason for the Bond-esque music and opening/closing).

MotoLady ain’t gonna be happy with THAT one.

Triumph Street Triple R, KTM Duke 690, or Hypermotard all 2013, what’s the best value? I’ve been riding a tu250x for about a year now and I’m really interested in a bigger bike but can’t make up my mind between these.

      Lucky boy.

    • Eugene

      KTM Superduke 1290?

      • MotoEnthusiast

That’s a sick bike but I don’t think it’ll be ideal for commuting in the North East.

Get the STreet Triple R. It’s the most broadly applicable there and shouldn’t be too terribly intimidating after that little 250. FIT FRAME SLIDERS FIRST!

      • MotoEnthusiast

Yeah, I was definitely leaning in that direction but wanted a second opinion. Thanks Wes.

I don´t understand why this new bike is compared with Hypermotard S, it should be done with the Evo or Evo SP, they keep saing that they “shaved” 9lbs but they had already done that with the last hyper series. I think I´m missing something here :(
