Gear Pick: Alpinestars Atem Leather Jacket

The Alpinestars Atem Leather Jacket is a modestly styled, high performance leather jacket. Why We Like It: Style-wise the Atem is track-inspired but it won’t make you look like a Power Ranger. Rather, it’s a sharp looking sport jacket that comes with all the bells and whistles you could ask for. It boasts a MotoGP profile to improve aerodynamic performance, a plethora of built in safety features and a multiple panel liner with 3D mesh inserts that help with comfort and ventilation. If you are going for a track look on your street bike, this is the jacket for you.

Less Expensive Competitor: At $449.95 the Alpinestars Jaws Jacket is a solid, cheaper alternative to the Atem.

You Should Also Check Out: The $899.95 Alpinestars Tech Air Jacket is a bit more cheddar than the Atem. Those extra bills get you some added features in the comfort and protection department.

14 logos on the exterior. Fourteen. 3 high contrast colors. I would hate to see what ‘immodestly styled’ looks like. Still waiting for someone to do a modern, high-performance leather sport riding jacket with no more than one small non-contrasting logo (and preferably none). If you want me to be your rolling billboard, you better be paying ME.

Do people LIKE to wear all these logos? I know I don’t, I know my friends don’t, and it seems like any internet chatter I see is complaining about it too. It seems like the thing everybody wants is the hardest to find.

I honestly kind of do like some well placed logo’ing. Its just a design, and I find that Alpinestars seems to do a good job of making their logos attractive on (most) of the jackets.

Depends on my bike. If I had a semi matte Duc with low profile livery, I’d rock a Rev’It CR jacket and rubatone black helmet. If I had a KTM painted up like the SuperDuke R concept, I’d wear Icon stuff with the high intensity colors and logos everywhere.

    want it.

When you spend upwards of $800 on a jacket like this you definitely wanna tell the world you own one. I can get by the cheaper, more discreet stuff myself. lol

I am struggling to see the added value of the Gear pick’s to be honest. The articles don’t live up to the quality of the other Gear articles.
