It seems that we're not the only ones excited about the 2010 Honda V4, the concept model is getting continuous creative attention from Honda. The latest example of that is this animated video that calls attention to the V4's dynamic forms and athletic purpose.
The video, while flashy and cool, is necessarily limited by the
constraints of the concept -- it's a styling exercise that doesn't roll
and none of the mechanical components are fleshed out --and achieves
nothing more than a tour of the gestures involved in the design. This
forms part of a body of work created to build buzz around the upcoming
production bike, which we're hoping lives up to the hype.
The reason we're excited about the 2010 V4 isn't just down to the
styling -- a nice mix of themes from diverse bikes: the Goldwing and
CBR1000RR -- but because it represents a return to road-oriented
sportsbikes free from the constraints of Superbike homologation. A
large capacity V4 with an emphasis on torque, comfort and usability
without sacrificing ability? Let's hope so.
