Officially unveiled today, following the complete leak of full details 10 days ago, we can finally see the 2014 KTM RC390 in all its high-res glory. Man, is this little sportbike a looker.

Using the same steel trellis frame and 373cc, liquid-cooled, DOHC, single-cylinder engine as the KTM 390 Duke, the RC390 makes 43 bhp and weighs just 324 lbs (wet, without fuel). Those figures not only mean it complies with the European A2 license tier for new riders, but should make it sharp, responsive and yes, fast.

High quality suspension will help, of course. The RC390's 43mm USD forks are the same diameter as those used by the KTM RC8 R superbike and the shock is made by WP. Compare the four-piston radial brake caliper to the single-piston used by the 480 lbs 2014 Harley-Davidson Street 750, for instance, to get an idea of how serious a performer this KTM will be. Like that Harley is made in India and will likely cost somewhere between $6,500 and $7,500 when it goes on sale in the U.S. sometime in the near future.

As enthusiasts, this is the most exciting new motorcycle to debut at EICMA this year. It offers real performance for real riders.
