Ducati CEO Claudio Domenicali describes the new Multistrada 950 as the company’s “Swiss Army Knife.” Which is to say a machine capable of doing almost anything, and doing it in style. “Made for those who seek comfort and style and want superior performance without feeling intimidated.”

The 937cc Testastretta engine makes 113 hp and 96.2 nm at 7500 rpm. “The Multistrada 950 perfectly blends the design of the Multistrada 1200 and that of the Multistrada 1200 Enduro, taking the lightest elements from both. This mix has led to the creation of a bike with typical Multistrada shapes but that is, at the same time, compact, and not just visibly.”

The 950 includes the Ducati Safety Pack (DSP), with ABS, Traction Control and four operational modes; Sport.Touring Urban and Enduro. With Pirelli Scorpion II tires (19-inch front, 17-inch rear), the Multi “guarantees comfortable, enjoyable riding on all terrain, as well as during the daily commute, thanks to the longest service intervals (18,000 Miles) in its sector. Ducati style, with no limits thanks to the additional accessory packs.”

Rated at 471 pounds wet, the Multi 950 weighs in at 95 pounds less than the 1200S, and a whopping 175 pounds lighter than the 1200 Enduro. The 48mm fork is fully adjustable and provides 6.7 inches of travel. The Sachs shock at the rear offers the same travel and full adjustment.

The 2017 Ducati Multistrada 950 is designed to be extremely comfortable for both the rider and passenger thanks to a roomy rider triangle and a comfortable seat.

The machine is presented in either Star White Silk (MSRP $14,195) or Ducati Red ($13,995), complemented by a gray frame and wheels. The exhaust is a titanium Termi. Four accessory packages are available: The Touring pack includes a centerstand and saddlebags; the Urban pack has a tank bag and tail trunk and a USB port; the Sport pack includes the Termi exhaust, aluminum frame plugs and brake reservoir plug; the Endure pack adds crash bars, LED lights, aluminum sump and radiator shields, off-road pegs and a beefier kickstand.

The 2017 Ducati Multistrada 950 cockpit is pure Ducati. It features a compact dash and an array of rider information available at your fingertips.

The DSP boasts eight levels of traction control and three levels of ABS adjustment. The goal of the Ducati Design Center was to produce a Multistrada 950 that was compact and light, in both appearance and performance, but that above all would be a real Multistrada. Looks like they met the first goal nicely. We look forward to discovering how they did with the second.

From the front, the Ducati Multistrada 950 features bright headlights and the distinct Ducati appearance.
The seat features a narrow mid-section while the passenger seat area is nicely padded and offers an easy reach to the rear grab rail.
The Multistrada 950 features Brembo M4.32 monobloc radial calipers with four 32mm diameter pistons and 2 pads, an axial pump and dual 320mm front discs.
Optional Enduro Skid Plate should protect the bottom of that big Twin engine.
A sporty exhaust should wake the Multistrada 950 up a wee bit.
The 2017 Multistrada 950 should be a hit with riders of all types, from new to veteran, this bike should appeal to everyone.
