While it isn't claiming bankruptcy and selling itself to foreign investors, American IronHorse has begun a production hold complete with layoffs. Doors will remain shut for the v-twin custom-bike manufacturer until at least March, but we think that might be a little overzealous. If anything, this looks like cost reductions to make for a better sale, with rumors already circulating that a group from Dallas is interested. CEO Buck Hendrickson may be claiming that they "just took a couple of weeks down," but we're willing to bet the underperforming, overpriced chopper market is heading the way of the dodo. We're not saying everything has to be sportsbikes and supermotards, but come on. How many people out there want 36 degrees of rake, cheap brakes and more bling than a cheap Nevada hustler?
