The D-Nect Infinity is the first good-looking helmet we've seen that incorporates Bluetooth as standard. Dainese is offering it on a limited-run, beta test basis. Basically, the company plans to sell 990 of these helmets, poll those customers for feedback and then incorporate their suggestions into a full product line.

Aftermarket Bluetooth add-ons have been available for a couple years, but they’re bulky — sticking to the helmet externally and requiring internal modification for speakers and microphone — and have had mixed results when used across a variety of helmets. By incorporating this technology into the helmet’s design from inception, Dainese has been able to seamlessly integrate it. Let's hope this means clearer, more reliable communications with other riders, and electronic devices like a sat-nav unit or cell phone.
