Kenny Roberts plans to reenter international motorcycle racing in next year's Moto2 class. The former world champion ran a team in MotoGP until 2007, when he became frustrated with his lack of competitiveness. Intended to reduce the cost of racing, Moto2 is replacing 250cc two-strokes with CBR600RR-based four-stroke engines.
"I'd like to get a couple of young American riders," Roberts told Cycle
News, he's planning on entering a two-rider team. "Getting them young
enough or late enough so they can win. We want to be up front, because
it's rough selling if you're not up front."
