KTM Invests in NuViz Helmet Technology Company

Pierer Industrie AG, the parent company behind KTM, Husqvarna, WP Suspension and Pankl Racing Systems has invested in Nuviz, a San Diego, CA-based provider of connected motorcycle riding solutions. In addition to the monetary investment, strategic synergies between the KTM Group and Nuviz will open opportunities for both companies including marketing, distribution and product integration with KTM and Husqvarna Motorcycles.

The company intends to use the funds to finalize product development, as well as boost sales and marketing efforts ahead of the launch of its heads-up (HUD) display technology and connected riding solutions in the first half of 2017. Led by Malte Laass, founder chief strategy officer, Nuviz provides head-up display technology that gives riders the opportunity to navigate, communicate, and capture videos or photos – all while keeping their focus on the road.

The company, which has a research and development team located in Salo, Finland, raised over $9M in equity financing and venture debt. For more information on Nuviz visit their website.
