A bomb squad, a fire truck and various police vehicles inundated a suburban street in Sydney after a motorcycle rider reported hearing an abnormal tick originating from his motorcycle.

Eighteen-year-old Habib Samour returned from a ride when he noticed the unnatural sound. After investigating his motorcycle, Samour found a strange wrapped up ball shoved into the bike’s underseat storage compartment. Upon his discovery, he promptly alerted the authorities.

Approximately 20 police vehicles arrived, closing off the streets outside Samour’s home and evacuated residents in the vicinity. The roads remained closed for two hours in the middle of the day while safety precautions were exercised.

Police conducted further investigation and found the culprit, which was a part accidentally left under the seat cowl left over from a recent visit to the shop.

“And I just got it back from the mechanic yesterday,” Samour told The Daily Mail Australia. “The mechanic broke the disc place. He wanted the noise to stop, so I guess his method was wrapping it up.”

With everything that’s been going on in Australia with religious extremists supporting the Islamic State in the past week, who can blame somebody for calling the police when they hear a weird noise?

Like Samour said: “You know if it’s a bomb, bro, what do you expect?” Yes Mr. Samour, it’s better to be safe than sorry.
