Preparing to hurl your body into the cold winds and moisture of winter for several hours means you need to layer up with the same care as Reinhold Messner when he gets ready to take on the Himalayas.

While riding in warm weather requires little more than a jacket, helmet, gloves and boots, getting ready for long winter rides takes significantly more preparation. Kind of like how a sprint compares to a marathon.
